Rigg Cottage

Rigg Cottage is located in the village of Eskdale, a short-drive from Wastwater and access to the world-famous Scafell Pike. The cottage dates back to the 1890s and is constructed from rose Granite, quarried from an ancient volcano within the valley. The cottage sleeps 5 and is pet friendly. It also boasts a lovely large back garden, with lovely views of the local fells. Within a couple of minutes walk is the Bower House Inn, great atmosphere, local food and draft beers.

Irton Road, mid-point of the Ravenglass & Eskdale railway (La'al Ratty), is also a short walk away - from there you can take a steam train up the valley to Dalegarth and Boot, or down to the port of Ravenglass, which dates back to Roman times.
