The Hideaway is located in Oak Street, close to the bustling heart of Windermere Village, the lively gateway to the English Lake District. If you are feeling a little adventurous, take the 20 minute walk up Orrest Head, and be rewarded with the stunning views over Windermere that first inspired Wainwright.

For dog walkers and children, Queens Park is located at the end of the road, offering a range of activities: there is a full-size football pitch, cricket square, crown green bowling, tennis court, childrens play area, skateboard area and squash pavilion.

20 minutes walk down the hill takes you to the edge of Windermere Lake itself and the bustling lake town of Bowness, where you can hire boats, take a cruise or explore the world of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit.
